A Brief History of Pi Lambda Chi

1977-1980

In the Fall of 1977, Steve Buis resigned as President and Rich Steinberg was elected to fill that office. The Fall Pledgemaster was Scott Braziller.

The 1978 President was Paul Scott Davis, while the Spring Pledgemaster was Carmine Petrizzo. Barry Sheridan resigned as the Fraternity Advisor and was unanimously nominated as an Honorary Brother. Jim Daughton and Dave Lappe received the James T. Fenwick Memorial Award at Alumni Weekend in the Spring of 1978. The Fall Pledgemaster was Rich Burgess.

The Spring 1979 President was Randy Snow, while the Spring Pledgemaster was L. Scott Fenwick. After a search for a new Fraternity advisor, Rick Hasse was asked to replace Barry Sheridan in that capacity.

That summer, tragedy again struck Pi Lambda Chi. A motorcycle accident took the life of Brother L. Eric Matises. The Fraternity established the L. Eric Matises Memorial Award, to be awarded to the graduating Brother with the highest final grade point average.

Randy Snow resigned in the Fall of 1979 and Wayne Fisk was elected as the new President. Scott Davis was the Fall Pledgemaster.
