A Brief History of Pi Lambda Chi

1966-1974

In 1966-67, Fred DeFuria was elected President. The Fraternity remained on campus in Terrace 10A (the same as Dorm 22L). In 1966-76, John Crittenden was President and 1968-69 Dieter Scherer was President.

In the Fall of 1969 Pi Lam moved back off campus to 40 Ridgewood Road under the leadership of President William Brewster Ely IV. The largest Pledge Class of 19 joined the ranks of Pi Lam in the Spring of 1970.

Larry Alleva was President in 1970-71. The Fraternity remained on Ridgewood Road but in the Spring found a new house for the coming year. This house was the Alpha Epsilon Phi house on 435 Wycoff. During the 1971-72 year at Wycoff, Kurt Wolfgruber was President. There were many problems with this house so the Fraternity decided to move back onto the Ithaca College Campus into Terrace 10A for the 1972-74 years. Pi Lam occupied two thirds of the house. Craig Kolloff was president for 1972-73.

Two years ago Pi Lam had plans drawn up to build our own house but Ithaca College wouldn't back us financially. In the future we plan to rent, build or buy our own house.

In January, 1973, Dan Fagan was voted as an Honorary Brother. Pi Lam won the Spring '73 Greek Weekend.

In the future, Pi Lam plans to keep growing so that we remain the best Fraternity on the Ithaca College Campus.
